I cannot stress how fucking important this is. If you haven’t been paying attention to the news, please start. This is happening, and it is fucking terrifying. Anti-abortion activists are crazy and have no qualms about doing really destructive shit to prove a point. And seeing as I now spend 20-30 hours a week at a potential target…yeah, this shit is important. Sign this petition, share it, reblog it, etc.
This is why feminism is important. Because this shit is happening.
AHH! Alice and Lucy would be proud.
Governor, this bill places restrictions on women’s reproductive freedom, and reduces us to criminal status. The bill restricts the doctor providing services to women, and places the doctor in legal jeopardy for practicing medicine as they are licensed to do. Women are more than concerned, we are furious.
Do I think this will really do anything? No, probably not. But at least we can let him know that we’re upset. This bill is absolutely terrifying and we need to do anything we can to make our voices heard. This isn’t about abortion, this is about right wing extremist politicians building their careers at our expense.
Please sign, please reblog (even if you aren’t from Georgia!)

The connections between and among women are the most feared, the most problematic, and the most potentially transforming force on the planet.
Hey, fellow Georgia feminists—there is a march being planned for April 28th in Atlanta in conjunction with the Unite Against The War on Women national group. I don’t really know about the details or anything yet, but it seems promising. If you’re interested, there is a Facebook group about it.
also can we please talk about how great the phrase “hey hey mister mister, keep your laws off my sister” is? definitely my favorite chant. that shit is going on patch or something.
“Rep. Ralph Long, D-Atlanta, answers “yes, ” when asked if he’ll vote for women’s rights as protestors walk around the state capitol.”
Hey everyone! If you are in/around Atlanta on Monday the 12th, PLEASE try to come to this event!!!
additional info: Georgia State Capitol, 11 AM to 1 PM, bring your own small sign or make one there. Directions and other guidelines are on the website!
Also: even if you can’t come or aren’t from Georgia, PLEASE reblog this and share it to get the word out!!!
For whatever reason, most adults find it tremendously difficult to take teenage girls’ lives seriously. Even when girls’ lives and bodies constitute a major political battleground. Even when girls are speaking the truth to power in clarion, prophetic voices. Even when girls are right.

hey, feminists:
what are some of your favorite documentaries/movies based on real events regarding global feminist issues? we’re doing a film series at my school and i am open to any/all suggestions please and thank you :)
about those Special K “What will you gain?” commercials…
Have you all seen these commercials? They’re like “What will you gain when you lose weight?” and offers all of these great adjectives like sassy, confident, etc.
I’m actually a pretty big fan of Special K cereals. Not because they apparently help you lose weight but because the cinnamon pecan flavor is delicious. But these commercials are really rubbing me the wrong way. Are they implying that by losing weight, I will gain a more positive trait? I can’t be fat AND sassy? Or fat AND confident? I just don’t really get it. Does anyone have thoughts on this subject? I’d love to hear them.
Recognize that you are not the center of the universe. Figure out how the idea of winning and losing fits into your relationships. Be as vulnerable as you possibly can. Recognize vulnerability and empathy as strengths. Don’t allow the fact that other people are assholes to you make you into a bitter and abusive person. Commit to the revolution as a method of psychological and physical survival.
